Apple's 'Welcome Home' Event: Its First Smart-Home Display Powered by Siri AI

Today is the day Apple finally walks back into your living room. Apple's "Welcome Home" event — officially announced on October 8 — is expected to unveil the company's first dedicated smart-home display, built from the ground up around the new Siri AI. It's Apple's first coordinated home push in years, and it's the first real test of whether the rebuilt Siri can carry an entire product. The star of the show is a brand-new device, not a refresh. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, it comes in two versions — a countertop model (internally J490) and a wall-mounted one (J491). The countertop version reportedly has a roughly 6-inch square display mounted on a half-dome speaker base, running a brand-new operating system based on tvOS.
