AI Tools Every Lawyer Should Use in 2026

Lawyers run on documents: research memos, contracts, discovery files, pleadings. In 2026, AI tools handle the first pass on most of that work — the lawyer checks, signs, and bills for the judgment part. Here is what actually earns its keep in a law office, organized by the job it does. LEGAL RESEARCH, MINUS THE ALL-NIGHTERS CoCounsel from Thomson Reuters is the research tool litigators reach for first. It answers legal questions grounded in Westlaw's case-law database, drafts summaries, and checks documents against compliance rules. Lexis+ AI with Protégé is the other heavyweight: generative AI search across LexisNexis's case law and statutes, usually sold bundled at roughly $250–$500 a seat a month per industry estimates. Meta's Muse AI Just Landed on iPad With Serious Business Tools

Meta logo

Meta's Muse AI agent just got a bigger screen. On October 7, Meta launched a native iPad app for Muse — its personal AI agent that does tasks instead of just answering questions — exactly one month after its September 8 debut on iPhone and Android.

The numbers are loud

Sensor Tower estimates Muse crossed 6.6 million downloads across iOS and Android in its first month. It hit No. 1 on the App Store in Canada within days of its September 18 launch there.

What's actually new on iPad

This isn't just a stretched phone app. Meta used the iPad launch to ship business and productivity integrations — connectors that let Muse plug into Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, and Zoom, plus Notion, Granola, and Meta's own advertising accounts. Connect your work accounts, and Muse can manage emails, meetings, bills, reservations, and purchases across them.

AiPost's take

If you're running a small business and living in Asana or QuickBooks, the iPad app is worth a look. For everyone else, Muse is still proving itself — but 6.6 million downloads in a month says the agent era isn't coming. It's here.
