7 Best AI Budgeting Apps in 2026
We test the top AI tools for writing, video, images & music — so you don't have to.

Start With What's Free
The best decluttering tools are already on your phone. Google Photos has Photo Stacks, which groups near-identical shots into one thumbnail — you tap it to see all of them inside. As of late 2026, Android users can even create stacks manually by selecting photos and tapping "Stack photos." On iPhone, open Photos, scroll to Utilities, and look for Duplicates: iOS has been finding exact copies on its own since iOS 16. And Google's Ask Photos lets you search your library in plain language — "my parking receipt from Tuesday" — instead of scrolling for an hour.
The AI Apps That Do the Grunt Work
When the free tools aren't enough, AI cleanup apps go further. Clever Cleaner (free on iPhone, 4.8/5 on the App Store) uses AI to spot exact and near-duplicate photos, compresses Live Photos to save space without deleting them, and has a "Heaviest Files" tab that shows you exactly what's eating your storage. CleanMy Phone scans for duplicates, giant videos and forgotten screenshots, then suggests the best shot in each group — everything runs on-device, so your photos never leave your phone. It's currently listed around $19.99 (down from $44.99). Cleaner Kit does similar AI grouping with a swipe-to-review system, recently listed at $29.99 lifetime. And Phlash adds a clever twist: on-device OCR reads your screenshots and separates boarding passes from memes from recipes you saved and never used.
Kill the Screenshots First
Here's the trick nobody tells you: don't start with photos. Start with screenshots. Most people have hundreds — passwords, receipts, one-time links — and deleting them is painless because nothing precious is lost. I cleared over a thousand in one evening just by searching "screenshots" in my library. Then hit large videos: one long 4K clip can outweigh hundreds of photos.
The Payoff
After one weekend, my library went from 8,000 photos to about 800 keepers. The phone feels new again, photos are actually findable, and I didn't have to pay for more iCloud storage. One warning: let AI suggest, but make the final call yourself. AI occasionally mis-tags a photo that's only similar, not identical — always review before you delete, and back everything up to the cloud first. The delete button is forever.
My take: your camera roll is probably the messiest place on your phone, and it's the easiest one to fix. An hour with the right tools beats a bigger storage plan every time.
