Robinhood wants your money to work while you sleep. At its HOOD Summit 2026 in Houston on Tuesday, September 29, the brokerage announced a new line of AI-led trading accounts — a type of agentic accounts where AI agents analyze the market, build strategies, and automatically trade on customers’ behalf around the clock, as reported by Investor’s Business Daily. The announcement marks Robinhood’s boldest push yet into autonomous finance.
Instead of placing every trade yourself, you set the goal and the agent does the legwork. These AI agents scan market data, design trading strategies, and execute orders automatically — day and night, with no screen-watching required. This is a big step up from Robinhood’s first move into agentic trading back in May 2026, when customers could connect their own third-party AI agents to their Robinhood accounts. The new product goes further: customers can now build their own agents directly inside the Robinhood app, with no outside tools required.
The pitch is that retail traders now get institutional-grade firepower. The agents draw on specialized data and tools from third-party providers — the kind of feeds once reserved for hedge funds and big banks. One example is “Options Trader by Unusual Whales,” which tracks unusual options activity, available for a $30-per-month subscription. Other tools track market sentiment, congressional trading, corporate lobbying, and even satellite and shipping data, offered at various subscription price tiers right inside the app. For everyday investors, that is a remarkable shift in who gets access to Wall Street’s toolkit.
AI agents weren’t the only headline. Robinhood also announced 24/7 weekend trading for equities, perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers, and prediction-market contracts tied to company earnings metrics — a clear push to keep active traders inside its ecosystem at all hours.
CEO Vlad Tenev framed the launch as a land grab for serious traders: “We’re making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms.” Robinhood says the Agents and Agent Apps are coming “soon” to eligible U.S. customers. Wall Street noticed — HOOD stock surged at Wednesday’s open, then reversed.
Our take: your broker is quietly becoming a hedge fund. The question is no longer whether AI will trade for you — it’s how well you tell it what to do. Sweet dreams, traders. 🤖
